Epocrates Rx on the iPhone

Epocrates for iPhone

Epocrates Rx is a great app on the iPhone and I’d like to kick off my 1st series of iPhone app reviews for Medical professionals with this review. Just like the countless essential apps that exist for the iPhone or the iPod touch, Epocrates is no less than any of them. In fact, it’s one of the most popular one and in my opinion, a must have for Medical Professionals and Students…

The app is totally integrated with the iPhone OS and does a great job. And the best part is, you can update the contents from inside the app, so there is no need to install an update of anything like that. Any changes made in the server will be updated on the phone, so this keeps you up-to-date at all times. Unlike the books or the hard copies, you are always on the newest stand. Read more

Blog Planning

The new start of my Med blog again is something I’m totally looking forward to. Till now I’ve always been looking for something to write about and as the internet is full of resources, I guess it makes less sense to write about the same stuff.

However, in the last few years I’ve seen a lot of interesting aspects related to med that I feel I can share with my friends so I’m planning a way to start some series on interesting topics.

In this way I’ll be able to collect all my thoughts in one place and get your feedback. This will help me a lot, I’m sure.

The 1st series is going to be about iPhone medical apps. There are so many of them and there is one fo everything. The amount of innovation that is possible in this field is just amazing. I personally use many of them so I’ll be writing reviews and show demos!

The 2nd series is going to be on OsiriX DICOM viewer. A very important topic and useful for all medical professionals.

The 3rd series will be on basic stuff about the heart. I plan to discuss about ways to keep the heart healthy and other risk factors etc. that might lead to attacks and so on…

The series that will then follow depends on how much response till then I will get. I will also choose topics suggested by readers so that this is more interactive.

Feel free to comment and send suggestions!! And the posts of the 1st three series will be mixed and in no perticular order…

So stay tuned and hope you will enjoy the posts that are to come…

Testing iPhone WordPress client

So after the renewed spirit of blogging again, I noticed that I have to update many things.

Now just checking out the WordPress client for the iPhone. This is just great. Has a lovely imterface and although it’s quite a hassel on other mobile devices, on the iPhone it is cool. I guess this time I’ll be blogging on the phone more than on my mac as I’m away from home most of the time…

Tonight if I get some time, I’ll try to finish the interface of my blog and include disclaimer page and other important stuff…

Stay tuned for more updates!! I’ll probably start writing a series on OsiriX and then on some views on the heart :)

the return

So apart form this being my Med blog, I’ll also use it for personal purposes… the blog at Kapani still will continue but rather as a Tech blog :)

So would like to welcome you again and hope you enjoy my blog. Please subscribe to my feeds to get the latest updates!
